About
Chasing Tradition provided an inside look at the 2005 collegiate cross country season. I spent one week at 11 different colleges completely immersed in their program. I used this site to document the journey. Although I stopped publishing content at the end of the 2005 season, the site will remain "live" as a point of reference.
About Me My name is Matt Taylor. I graduated from Yale in 2000, where I ran track and cross country (obviously). I was primarily a steeplechaser, running 8:57 my senior year. I love running and am always looking for ways to promote the sport and make our athletes more visible. I decided to do this project because I thought it was a way to do just that. Please feel free to contact me . I'd love to hear from you.
Navigation The eleven schools are listed across the top in order. I started at Portland, then headed to Adams State, Colorado, etc. Each day I posted from that school. Click on the school and then the day and you'll see all the blog entries from that day. Down the left-hand side you'll find additional content, not necessarily related to a particular school or particular day, but interesting and entertaining nonetheless. You'll be able to follow particular athletes through their journals, read in-depth interviews, and browse some running-related artilces from various authors.
